Considering becoming a vendor at the Country Fair? Here are some questions we are frequently asked by prospective vendors. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Hancock Shaker Village at 413.443.0188. Ready to register? Download a vendor registration form here.

Do I have to bring my own tent?
No. Large vendor tents are provided by Hancock Shaker Village for both the Farmers' Market and Craft and Artisan Areas. Being under the large tents ensures that you will see optimal foot traffic in your booth.

What is your adjudication process?

A small committee of Hancock Shaker Village staff reviews vendor applications. We are committed to maintaining the high quality of vendors from previous years, and look only for vendors of handmade items. We do reserve the right to limit the number of vendors with similar items, to achieve a balanced representation of a number of crafts.

Should I apply as a Farmers' Market Vendor or a Craft Vendor?
If you are unsure which area your items fit best, please consult us. Many vendors of natural products such as wreaths and hand dyed wool choose to set up in the Farmers' Market area, while items such as wooden ware and pottery are in the Craft and Artisan Area. If we receive an application that looks like a better fit for another area, we will contact you before making the switch.

How will I know if my application is accepted?
As vendor applications come in, we review and make decisions on a rolling basis. You will receive a letter by mail with our decision. Please feel free to contact us if you do not hear in a  timely manner, we sometimes wait to send out acceptance letters in bulk.

What is included in my vendor fee?
Your booth fee includes:
a 10x10 space under one of our large vendor tents, one 8' table, two folding chairs (please indicate on your application if you need the table and chairs, many vendors choose to bring their own), a listing and link to your website on our Country Fair web page, a continental breakfast on both days of the Country Fair, and overnight security for your booth during the weekend of the Country Fair.

Can I sign up for only one day of the two-day Country Fair?
We do not have a one day registration, and anyone who cannot attend both days must still pay the full weekend vendor fee. We do not want empty booths on either day as it is unsightly and unfair to other vendors. If you can make arrangements to share your booth over the weekend with another one-day vendor, please consult us about the special arrangements.

When can I unload my items and set up prior to the Country Fair?
Vendors may unload items and begin their booth set-up on the Friday evening before the Country Fair (after 5pm when we close for the day), or on Saturday morning before 9:30am. We open to the public at 10am, and expect that all vendor vehicles will be parked outside of the historic grounds and all booths completely ready for visitors prior to 10am.
