Hancock Shaker Village offers many oppurtunities to help bring the Shaker story to life. If you have questions about volunteering, or have a skill you'd like to share that is not listed below, please feel free to contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
♦ General volunteer - Explore various options. ♦ Clerical - Help us communicate with our supporters and friends! Assemble mailings and other support projects. ♦ Docent - Be a guide and share the Shaker story with visitors. ♦ Greeter - Welcome visitors with an overview of the day's activities. ♦ Discovery Room - Assist young visitors in our fun hands-on activity center. ♦ Shaker Crafts Demonstrator ♦ Garden Assistant - Help tend the Village's gardens and orchard. ♦ Grounds and Maintenance - Assist in caring for the Village.
YOUTH VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - 2009 Hancock Shaker Village is proud to announce our Youth Volunteer Program, designed for youth ages 12 to 17.
A supervised program of Shaker-related experiences, with daily projects at the Village like helping with farm chores, working in the historic gardens, fence painting, and learning to demonstrate Shaker crafts and trades. In addition, participants will experience educational and enjoyable opportunities such as hikes, and behind-the-scenes tours with our knowledgeable staff.
Seven one-week sessions, running Monday through Friday, July 6 –August 21, 2009. The fee is $100 per week. Youth may attend just one session, or any number of sessions.
