Named after the founding president of Hancock Shaker Village and her husband, the Amy Bess and Lawrence K. Miller Library (which includes the Robert F. W. Meader office) is a research library and reading room housing 13,000 primary and secondary manuscripts, ephemera, photographs, graphics and maps. Climate-controlled, closed stacks ensure the safety and preservation of this special library collection. The library is available to researchers by appointment. Contact the Collections Manager at (413) 443-0188 x244 to schedule time. Visits to the library at Hancock Shaker Village are free. We do request that researchers make a small donation for the staff time and supplies provided during their visit. Thank you!
