The Amy Bess and Lawrence K. Miller Library

Named after the founding president of Hancock Shaker Village and her husband, the Amy Bess and Lawrence K. Miller Library (which includes the Robert F. W. Meader office) is a research library and reading room housing 13,000 primary and secondary manuscripts, ephemera, photographs, graphics and maps. Climate-controlled, closed stacks ensure the safety and preservation of this special library collection.

The library is available to researchers by appointment. Contact the Collections Manager at (413) 443-0188 x244 to schedule time.

Visits to the library at Hancock Shaker Village are free. We do request that researchers make a small donation for the staff time and supplies provided during their visit. Thank you!
