Share your love of history with your children or grandchildren at Hancock Shaker Village! Guides and demonstrators engage your family in learning and fun, and the Village's 20 acres provide a delightful outdoor classroom with ample time for enjoying the fresh air. Best of all, children 12 and under are admitted free!
The Discovery Room is our hands-on center of the Village. You can weave on a child-size loom, spin wool, or construct a Shaker chair. Farm related activities include watching baby chicks hatch or milking MaryJane, a life-size milkable replica of a Holstein cow. See what you would have looked like as a Shaker! Try Shaker-style clothing - our Discovery Room staff is happy to take that memorable "Shaker" portrait for you.

In the Schoolhouse, take a 19th-century school lesson with a Shaker schoolteacher (costumed staff). Learn to spell with letter boards, write with a quill pen, and receive instruction on how to behave like a good Shaker boy or girl.

The farm and gardens are always a favorite place for families. Children delight in seeing heritage breeds of sheep, cows, chickens and pigs as they go about their daily routines.
